Oasis of Refreshing!
WELCOME!
I wish to welcome you to the Elim Pentecostal Church, Camberwell website. I believe God has called us to take the good news of Jesus Christ across the nations of the world to lead people into a personal relationship with God the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We hope these pages will provide a one-stop for all your queries about our ministry and fellowship. You are specially invited to join us at our various services, as we increase our knowledge of Christ and acquire the wisdom to fulfil God’s purposes for our lives.
After wandering around the South East of London for some five years we finally settled in our own home, Camberwell in 1990. Situated on Benhill Road near Peckham, "Elim Camberwell" as it is popularly known, is the main church with a branch in Harlesden north London, Guildford in Surrey, as well as international branches in Malmo Sweden, Hamburg Germany and Ghana West Africa. We will continue to add details of other branches on this site in due course.
The pilgrimage to Israel from 23rd July to 31st July 2008 organised by Dr. Lamasa Adams of Wisdom Christian College and led by Rev. Dr Sam Larbie was a complete success. 60 people went on the trip.
The first day was spent at the Eden Hotel in Tiberias after landing in Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.
This was a spiritual journey that had peaks of excitement from cruising The Sea of Galilee to doldrums from visiting Calvary, the place of execution of our Lord.

The 40oC plus heat could not deter all who went on the pilgrimage from enjoying the experience. For the team, places visited were not just tourist attractions but real spiritual significance as we related physically to places mentioned in the Bible and felt enthralled by the physical presence of places that our Lord and master walked on.
Our pilgrimage was made more enjoyable by our visit to The Dead Sea, where we floated on the Sea and breathed in the healing properties of that unique sea.
Places visited included Saint Peter’s House in Capernaum, Mount of Olives, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Masada, A visit to Jerusalem, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall), House where Mary was Born, Golgotha, Pool of Siloam and The Empty Tomb of Jesus.
One of the most emotional time during the trip was carrying a replica of the cross down the Viadoroso. This shows the route that Jesus took to his crucifixion
There was also time for mirth that brought some great relief during times of deep seated emotions.
